Mixing Up The Seasons

Aztec Print Skirt: Zara
Studded Boots: Topshop
The mistake of wearing nude lipstick: Models Own

Why oh why is it Sunday already? Don't get me wrong I love Sundays more than the next person but why do they have to come round so quickly? With no big plans made for this weekend I was looking forward to spending time with the boy and maybe even Spring cleaning the floordrobe, unfortunately my head cold had other ideas leaving me feeling crapola most of the weekend. Thankfully the boy persuaded me to take a trip to Clumber Park yesterday where we took Kez for a super long walk around the lake, I even had a 99 ice cream, well it did soothe my throat - keep up the good weather work March! Tonight I'm off on an old school night out which includes bowling and a pizza to celebrate my friends birthday, I'm looking forward to it although whether they'll enjoy my barking cough is another matter.

Today's outfit pictures were taken last Sunday when I thought it was a good idea to wear nude lipstick with hardly any blusher, a serious make-up faux pas Hannah! After spotting the rather lovely Mel aka the queen of skirt and chunky jumper combos wearing the very same aztec print skirt from Zara I got to thinking Carrie Bradshaw style, why have I mentally put this skirt into the Summer only wardrobe? I dug my skirt out faster than you can say Summer meets Spring and with the addition of the legendary Primark cosy tights this soon became right now appropriate. Throwing on my Zoe Karssen boys jumper gives this skirt an easy-Sunday-dressing vibe while my Topshop studded boots keep this outfit on the right side of smart casual. I also wore my H&M faux fur tippet to ward off the cold winds - don't forget it was trying to snow last Sunday however the snaps didn't quite make the cut, sorry guys!

I'm excited for the arrival of the new week, on Tuesday my mum and I are heading to Leeds after work to hit up the Harvey Nichols Spring Summer fashion show (I promise to take plenty of pictures) and on Saturday I may just be taking my mum on a mystery adventure as a Mothers Day treat. What can I say, I'm a good daughter!

What have you been wearing this weekend? Cagney and Lace kudos if you've been adapting Summer wares for wearing right now.

I can't believe how quickly our weekend in London went, it literally zoomed by in a hot chocolate fuelled haze! We definitely came, saw, shopped (the boy not me) and conquered (I did find a bargainous shirt in Zara though, definitely an achievement). Today's pictures were taken yesterday on our last day in London - the boy and I had a super lazy morning and decided to do brunch, me french toast with berries and him a hearty full English. As we only had a few hours until our train we kept things local and with Buckingham Palace right on our door step we thought it'd be rude not to hop, skip and courtesy over. I vaguely remember visiting Buckingham Palace and all the typical London tourist sights as a child but it's definitely hard to recall specific memories. I for one appreciate all things cultured a lot more now I'm a little older and the boy seemed pretty excited too (well it was his idea), so off we went.

I hadn't planned on wearing head to (almost) toe black as I don't really love rocking the Scottish widow look but a quick peek out of the window confirmed the weather was just a little dreary. As walking would be the main activity of the day I decided to plan my outfit around my red velvet trainers - what was life like before these? On went my thermal top (well I am recovering from tonsillitis) followed by my Zoe Karssen Boys jumper which is casual at it's very best - next my coated jeggings which are the perfect antidote to frightened of disco pant-itus. Finally I added my favourite jewellery piece, my Mawi-esque necklace from Topshop and threw on my never-take-it-off faux fur stole and the ever practical yet chic studded Zara coat. An outfit fit for royalty....maybe I wouldn't quite tick that box.

I hope you all had lovely weekends whatever you were up to - I promise to share more snaps from the London album very soon (my new camera takes pictures like a dream) including a very tasty cookery lesson with Jamie Oliver's Recipease team, all I'll say it that I can now make pasta from scratch - surely a skill for life? Only time will tell.

Have you ever posed outside Buckingham Palace? What did you wear?

Happy Saturday guys! It's crazy how quickly Christmas is coming, I already know my plans for tomorrow and they include a certain film called Elf with lots of Christmas wrap and cards- seriously need to write those bad boys. Today has been ridiculously chilled out, I woke up feeling full of cold (the joys of Winter) but instead of moping around all day I decided to slick on some red lipstick, throw on my naughty new purchases and go for a walk and a cupcake with my mum.

I've had my eye on this Zoe Karssen jumper for quite a while and a similar one featured in my Wednesday Wishlist here, so when a My Wardrobe.com pre-sale voucher code landed in my inbox I had to treat myself. The jumper brings a more casual edge to my new Rupert the bear style check trousers from Zara which I adore. Material wise these are similar to a flannelette and feel so soft and cosy on. I love versatile pieces and know these trousers will work just as well with heels and a loose blouse for a night out as they do with a jumper and flats. To finish my outfit I added my faux fur stole and trusty Zara coat for that extra bit of warmth.

I hope you're all enjoying your weekends, my night consists of snuggling up with the boy eating takeaway and watching X Factor (Team James) followed by Arthur Christmas. Too excited!

What have you been wearing this weekend? Brownie points for any tartan!

Sat with a cup of blackcurrant and acai herbal tea- delish, looking at the rain finally coming to a standstill (it's been vicious guys) I feel incredibly calm. Is it just me who finds it enjoyable to sit and watch the rain from my window? Anyhoo back to point- I'm feeling all soothed by the rain which inevitably lead to me on-line window shopping and surprise surprise I began styling these items into my hypothetical wardrobe...

Top to bottom- Lace Dress from Zara £39.99/ Faux Leather Sleeved T-Shirt from Zara £17.99/ Flower & Skull Neon Bracelet from Zara £15.99/ Rib V Boutique Jumper from Topshop £50/ Bee Print Blouse from Warehouse £45/ Creme De La Creme Zoe Karssen Jumper/ Aster Snake Metal Tap Slippers by Sam Edelman £148

In true Cagney and Lace style I was instinctively drawn to the lace dress and no it isn't just another lace dress. What I love about this Zara number is how the back is just as pretty as the front if a little understated. I'd team this with black opaques and ankle boots come Autumn or with bare legs and some fierce shoes now.

The faux leather sleeved t-shirt, another Zara piece would add edge to the simplest jeans and boots combo or I'd add some serious neck candy for a dressier approach. The bracelet just speaks for itself; a little bit too neon and dangling on the edge of cheap yet it just works. Personally I'm not one for jewellery overkill and prefer to just stick to one statement piece with a simple ring and some delicate friendship style bracelets but this could certainly fit the statement bill.

The ribbed v neck jumper screams fisherman's friend to me but that's why I like it, it reminds me of something you'd see your granddad wearing which smells of childhood memories. I adore a chunky knit in the A/W season and this would look spot on with my black coated jeggings which you can see in my first post.

The next two items are variations on two of my favourite themes; animal printed clothing and novelty jumpers. Seeing this written in black and white makes me wonder if I just yearn to feel like a child- they certainly get away with some of the best patterned clothing around. Although the shirt is similar to a Zara number I own (I can hear the boys voice now) the black tie bow makes it sufficiently different. As for the jumper I can already see me wearing it with boyfriend jeans and Converse.

My final wish list pick are these amazing metal toe snake print slippers from Sam Edelman. Being relatively gifted in the height department I live in flats so I'm always on the look out for a go-with-anything pair. Sadly they're not the cheapest of items but I'm sure I wouldn't see everyone wearing them and there's still time for Topshop to copy them. I live in hope....

What do you think to my Wednesday wishlist choices?
