I can't believe how quickly our weekend in London went, it literally zoomed by in a hot chocolate fuelled haze! We definitely came, saw, shopped (the boy not me) and conquered (I did find a bargainous shirt in Zara though, definitely an achievement). Today's pictures were taken yesterday on our last day in London - the boy and I had a super lazy morning and decided to do brunch, me french toast with berries and him a hearty full English. As we only had a few hours until our train we kept things local and with Buckingham Palace right on our door step we thought it'd be rude not to hop, skip and courtesy over. I vaguely remember visiting Buckingham Palace and all the typical London tourist sights as a child but it's definitely hard to recall specific memories. I for one appreciate all things cultured a lot more now I'm a little older and the boy seemed pretty excited too (well it was his idea), so off we went.
I hadn't planned on wearing head to (almost) toe black as I don't really love rocking the Scottish widow look but a quick peek out of the window confirmed the weather was just a little dreary. As walking would be the main activity of the day I decided to plan my outfit around my red velvet trainers - what was life like before these? On went my thermal top (well I am recovering from tonsillitis) followed by my Zoe Karssen Boys jumper which is casual at it's very best - next my coated jeggings which are the perfect antidote to frightened of disco pant-itus. Finally I added my favourite jewellery piece, my Mawi-esque necklace from Topshop and threw on my never-take-it-off faux fur stole and the ever practical yet chic studded Zara coat. An outfit fit for royalty....maybe I wouldn't quite tick that box.
I hope you all had lovely weekends whatever you were up to - I promise to share more snaps from the London album very soon (my new camera takes pictures like a dream) including a very tasty cookery lesson with Jamie Oliver's Recipease team, all I'll say it that I can now make pasta from scratch - surely a skill for life? Only time will tell.
Have you ever posed outside Buckingham Palace? What did you wear?
It is nice that the beef-eaters get warm jackets in the winter. I love your coat, it looks really good with the stole. I think we have the same on from H&M, it goes with EVERYTHING!
ReplyDeleteHave fun in London and with your new pasta making skills!! <3
Em x
It really does go with everything doesn't it Em? I wear mine far too much! Ah I know, they must get so cold stood there all day.
DeleteThank you lovely.

Thanks Heather - I'll let the boy know you approve of his photographs, they're mostly his handiwork. Think he likes my new camera more than he's letting on!
DeleteLove the quote! I've just started a new blog would be great to get your opinion. xx

It's lovely isn't it? I'll hop over and have a look Sophie.
DeleteI certainly wish I could pose outside Buckingham Palace. I kind of live half way around the world though. :( But great outfit nonetheless. (:

Deletelooks like you're having a fab time
ReplyDeleteWe certainly did, being back home now is a bit of a come down!
DeleteI haven't been to London for so long even though I have lots of family there.
ReplyDeleteLast time I was there I saw She & Him in concert and did a few touristy things too. The London Eye was pretty cool. I do love a good photo opportunity :)
Ah you'll have to make a trip soon! Very envious that you've seen She & Him, I adore Zooey Deschanel. I've never done the London Eye - one for the London list I think.
