Boys Jumper: Zoe Karssen via mywardrobe.com Aztec Print Skirt: Zara Studded Boots: Topshop The mistake of wearing nude lipstick: Models Own |
Why oh why is it Sunday already? Don't get me wrong I love Sundays more than the next person but why do they have to come round so quickly? With no big plans made for this weekend I was looking forward to spending time with the boy and maybe even Spring cleaning the floordrobe, unfortunately my head cold had other ideas leaving me feeling crapola most of the weekend. Thankfully the boy persuaded me to take a trip to Clumber Park yesterday where we took Kez for a super long walk around the lake, I even had a 99 ice cream, well it did soothe my throat - keep up the good weather work March! Tonight I'm off on an old school night out which includes bowling and a pizza to celebrate my friends birthday, I'm looking forward to it although whether they'll enjoy my barking cough is another matter.
Today's outfit pictures were taken last Sunday when I thought it was a good idea to wear nude lipstick with hardly any blusher, a serious make-up faux pas Hannah! After spotting the rather lovely Mel aka the queen of skirt and chunky jumper combos wearing the very same aztec print skirt from Zara I got to thinking Carrie Bradshaw style, why have I mentally put this skirt into the Summer only wardrobe? I dug my skirt out faster than you can say Summer meets Spring and with the addition of the legendary Primark cosy tights this soon became right now appropriate. Throwing on my Zoe Karssen boys jumper gives this skirt an easy-Sunday-dressing vibe while my Topshop studded boots keep this outfit on the right side of smart casual. I also wore my H&M faux fur tippet to ward off the cold winds - don't forget it was trying to snow last Sunday however the snaps didn't quite make the cut, sorry guys!
I'm excited for the arrival of the new week, on Tuesday my mum and I are heading to Leeds after work to hit up the Harvey Nichols Spring Summer fashion show (I promise to take plenty of pictures) and on Saturday I may just be taking my mum on a mystery adventure as a Mothers Day treat. What can I say, I'm a good daughter!
What have you been wearing this weekend? Cagney and Lace kudos if you've been adapting Summer wares for wearing right now.

Love the mixture of this outfit. I say throw the season rules out of the window and make everything your own! Hope you feel a lot better soon, and enjoy the bowling! xx
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more Tamsin, let's throw that rule book out of the window!
DeleteThank you lovely, there's a Sunday roast on the go right now so I'm sure that'll help to make me feel better.
Ooh, I love this skirt. Definitely an investment for Spring if it ever decides to appear x Becky

Thank you Becky, it definitely shouldn't be reserved for just Summer!
DeleteLove the skirt! :) I can´t wait for warmer months! I can imagine that skirt with a pair of ballet flats or sandals and a simple tee or sleeveless top for walking about.
ReplyDeleteMe neither Daphne, I love this skirt as it reminds me of my city break in Barcelona.
Delete:) Barcelona, I never get tired of how beautiful that city is. There is so much to take in -- beautiful architecture and the eclectic fashion styles that can be found. Madrid people are more classic and sometimes it makes me feel like they were kept in a time capsule and plopped into the present. Hehe!
DeleteI totally agree! I bought the prettiest summer dress yesterday but I'm planning on pairing it with tights and layer a jumper over it with some chunky boots and I think it'll look great! I'm also embracing the bright nails - I've just posted a review of Barry M's Gelly Hi-Shine in Blueberry on Black & Gold!
ReplyDeleteLaura xx - Black & Gold
Sounds like a plan Laura, I'm definitely going to be taking a leaf out of your book and rocking dresses with tights and jumpers.
