I was tempted to title this post 'Pastels for Spring? Groundbreaking', in homage to Miranda Priestley, you have seen The Devil Wears Prada right? This weekend has been an almighty mish mash of fun, isn't it usually the way though when you don't have any plans set in stone? As much as I enjoy visiting new places, attending weddings and getting my fashion shimmy on at London Fashion Week I'm beyond happy to have a full weekend at home - chilling out with my favourites and checking out new places in my hometown is the best. On Saturday I popped to an Italian cafe for brunch with my mum before visiting the most amazing greengrocers just a stones throw from my abode, I couldn't get over how fresh everything was - screw you supermarkets I'll be going here more often. Last night I joined a few work colleagues for an evening at the casino (and came home with a few extra pounds to my name) while today has been spent shopping, visiting my ma and pa and polishing off the roast to end all roasts with Craig. Weekend you've been a goodie.
Today was actually warm enough to ditch my beloved thermal vests (yes I am a nannan) and rock my pink polka dot shirt which is just about the right side of Grease, River Island I'm liking your work. Teamed with my Jamie skinnys and Sam Edelman slipper shoes my outfit was perfect for shopping, sadly I didn't manage to find any basics which is what I was on the hunt for but I did come home with some homeware finds oops! I wouldn't be able to join the pastel club however without this boyfriend style coat which is the most dreamy blue shade from the folk at Glamorous* - if I had to sketch my dream Spring coat this would be it, it's oversized without looking huge, cosy without causing a heat wave and it goes with pretty much every clothing item I owe. I may be a bit late to the pastel coat party but better to be fashionably late then never arrive, right?
What have you been up to this weekend? Are pastels shades your bag?
