Mondays are often spent in mourning - where did the weekend go? Why am I eating my lunch at my desk when yesterday I was enjoying a BBQ? Not forgetting the most pondered question of all, how many days left until the weekend? So in the hope of bringing ya'll some beginning of the week joy I thought I'd give you a guided tour, a show and tell if you will of my most recent wardrobe additions.

Tile Check Origami Dress
Isn't she a beaut? I must admit I had a can't-quite-believe-it moment when I spotted this was not only in the sale but the last one and in my size *punches the air*! Generally I can't stand in store sales, sure I love a bargain but give me some beautifully merchandised stock any day of the week so you could say it's fate that this china blue number came into my life. Down from £48 to a winning £15 I can't wait to team this with my sparkly silver Zara sandals, or as the boy calls them, my stripper shoes for a night out on the town.

Floral Lace Burnout Top
Keeping things true to the Cagney and Lace name I was besotted on first glance with this bright neon lace top. I love how lightweight this baby is, perfection for this hot weather we're experiencing right now. I think this will look equally as sweet with my boyfriend jeans as it will with my next, animal themed purchase. I usually find Topshop really hit and miss but right now I'm in love.

Elephant Print Skater Skirt

After excitedly ordering an elephant print dress from ASOS I was devastated when it arrived and made me look seven months pregnant, damn you smock dress - so when I spotted this elephant print skater skirt in Topshop I was elated. I'll be wearing this now with my neon lace top and gladiator sandals or with black opaques, an oversized sweater and ankle boots come Autumn. Elephant print seems to be having a real moment right now and I for one am whole heartedly embracing it.

Watching Zoe's recent haul had me wondering whether southern Primarks really do get all the best stock and why I didn't have this blouse in my life. At just £12 this cowboy meets whimsical blouse would look delightful with denim cut offs, tucked into a high waisted skirt for work or super cute peeking out from under my favourite oversized jumper. Go-with-anything blouse, get in my wardrobe.

Lightweight patterned jackets are a real game changer of a piece which I'm always lusting after so this monochrome aztec print jacket priced at just £13 was an easy purchase. Shape wise this reminds me of my ASOS fluro boucle jacket but I'd say the material is quite a bit thinner - think less cardigan and more evening cover up and you'd be on the money. This will be perfect for jazzing up the simplest of outfits, yes I did just say jazzing up.

I've admired the sports luxe trend for a while but after rolling my eyes at several basketball jerseys I thought the trend would slyly pass me by, that is until Primark. At just £6 I love this basic-with-a-twist cream quilted tee which is the piece to add to my seriously pattern-centric wardrobe, the jury is out on how much I enjoy the Chanel-esqe chain detail on the pocket but for such a well priced basic I couldn't say no.

Are you team Topshop or Primark? What have you been buying recently?
