Hello weekend, I've missed you! I've been MIA on the blog this week, what with buying a house (nobody warns you how bloomin' stressful it really is), paying a cheeky visit to Spa 1877 with my girl Lauren after work on Thursday, making a trip down south but more on that soon and going to Tramlines yesterday I've found myself rolling into bed at a ridiculous hour most nights this week, far too tired to even contemplate a full skincare routine, let alone writing a post but hey, that's just the way the cookie crumbles.
Those who know me well will know how much I love London, as soon as I step off the train at St Pancras I feel like I'm home so if there's ever an opportunity to touch down in London town (thanks Kanye) I'm all over it. A couple of weeks ago my dad announced he had three tickets for him, my brother and I to go and see the mid week matinee of The Book of Mormon, I was excited. FYI it's truly a fantastic show but bear in mind it's created by the makers of South Park so some of it is a little 'out there' and not for the easily offended. Fully appreciating that a trip to London with my dad and bro was going to be a little different to my usual jaunts I kept my plan of attack short but deadly, Anthropologie, & Other Stories - grabbing eats at the renowned Breakfast Club and Patty & Bun.
Sadly there was a huge queue at the Breakfast Club but we did chow down on some seriously tasty brunch in near by Le Pain Quotidien before finding ourselves on Carnaby Street at the Pixi shop, how did that happen? After hearing Caroline rave about the Pixi Glow Tonic I thought a little peek in store would prove fruitless as the wonder toner is always out of stock but what do you know...there was just twelve bottles left. The best £16 I've ever spent? I'll keep you informed.
After Pixi we hit up Havaianas where my dad rather kindly treated me to a pair of Micky Mouse flip flops, who doesn't want a bit of Disney in their life? From Carnaby Street we skipped to easily my favourite shop of the day, & Other Stories. Kudos to the brains behind & Other Stories because the place is just a joy to peruse, whether accessories, shoes, beauty or clothing are your bag there's something with your name on it. I did a supermarket-sweep dash as the boys were beginning to look uneasy and found myself leaving with a rose gold nail polish, a Moroccan tea scented hand lotion and a huge lion statement necklace.
Before arriving at the matinee we found ourselves in the homeware mecca that is Anthropologie. For once in my life I didn't make a purchase, my dad on the other hand was going for the buy-everything-in-sight record (you see where I get it from now?) The cutie did get Craig and I an adorable magnetic notepad though which will take pride of place on our new fridge, you don't get more rock and roll than that.
Catching the nine o'clock train home meant there was still plenty of London lovin' to be done so after the Book of Mormon we found ourselves navigating the rush hour tube to Patty & Bun - the burger placed recommended to me by Rosie on Twitter. My dad and I went for Ari Golds and my bro a Jose Jose - silence ensued as soon as our burgers, rosemary chips and coleslaw arrived and with good reason. Possibly one of the best burgers I've ever consumed, I'd definitely recommend checking this unassuming burger joint out. With tummies well and truly full we ended our whistle stop tour of London with an evening wander through Hyde Park. Until next time, London you did not disappoint. To check out more pictures of the day, hurry over to Instagram.
Do you love London as much as me? What are your capital must-visits?

Sounds like a great trip! I absolutely love London, my grandparents used to take me every year for my birthday. I love visiting the V&A, especially when they have some really cool exhibitions on, one of my favourites being the Valentino one.
