Llamas & A Pony

Monday, 30 December 2013

Grey Embellished Llama Jumper: J Crew via Net A Porter
Faux Leather A Line Skirt: Oasis
Burgundy Ankle Boots: Schuh
Reindeer Scarf: Asda
Studded Sleeve Coat: Zara
Balenciaga Bag
I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to my hair (low maintenance can be defined as a messy bun and a pony are the only styles in my repertoire) and I'm ok with that. Life's too short to focus on my poor hair styling skills especially as I've always been a wash and go kinda gal so when there's a picture of me without my hair flowing free it's worth documenting, right? Sometimes a girl has got to rock a pony and who wouldn't want to throw a bunch of llamas into the mix at the same time? After staring longingly at my wish list admiring another animal inspired knit I was thrilled to find this under the Christmas tree. J Crew, you know how to make a good jumper.

Another item making it's blog debut is my newly purchased faux leather a line skirt from the masters of skirts, Oasis. Those guys know how to cut a skirt for a gal who's all legs and bum, unlike team Topshop who think it's ok for my butt to hang out (unless it's from the tall section) and nobody wants to see that! This is my third acquisition from Oasis in the last few months and I must say I'm impressed, especially since I've been on the hunt for a well fitting leather look skirt for what feels like forever. Get ready to see this cheeky zipped number make many appearances on Cagney and Lace.

Today Craig and I are making a trip to John Lewis to do some homeware research and possibly make a few purchases. It's crazy to think that this time tomorrow we'll be on a road trip to London (yay baby) to wave goodbye to 2013 and say a huge hello to 2014, I know everyone says this but it doesn't seem like two minutes ago since we welcomed 2013 - I can't wait to catch up with friends and watch the fireworks in Hampstead Heath. 2013 has been a real mixed bag for me but I'm going into the New Year with excitement and hope that it'll be one of the best years yet. Who's with me?

Are you a dab hand at hair styling or a bit of a novice like me? Will you be greeting 2014 with open arms?

Wishing On A Christmas Star

Thursday, 21 November 2013

Christmas really is the most wonderful time of the year, any holiday that combines spending time with your nearest and dearest whilst eating your body weight in a spectacular Christmas feast is more than alright by me. I find buying presents for my loved ones one of the most joyful past times around and is there anything better than watching your carefully selected presents being opened? That said I do enjoy receiving presents myself, who doesn't? If I found just one of these picks under our tree this year I'd be elated...

1. Jo Malone Christmas Cracker £30 - Jo Malone is one of the most luxurious fragrance brands around, those guys know how to create a divine perfume and how to package it beautifully. Sadly this cracker has already sold out online but fingers crossed there's some available in store, how pretty would this look on the Christmas tree?

2. Sophie Hulme Beagle Pendant £175 - I adore delicate yellow gold pendants with a bit of personality so this one by Sophie Hulme featuring none other than a beagle is right up my street.

3. Paris Street Style Book £11 - After reading Charlottes post about this Parisian style book I had to pop this on my Christmas wish list, who doesn't want to achieve that effortless French look?

4. Charlie & The Chocolate Factory Tickets - I miss London like a fat kid loves cake so a post-Christmas trip to the capital would make my year, I may even let out a tiny squeal if I got my mitts on some Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tix. It. Sounds. Awesome.

5. The Great Gatsby DVD £10 - So the book may be on my to read list (don't give me that look) but the film had me intrigued from the word go plus anything featuring Leo can never be wrong.

6. Salted Caramel Hot Drinking Chocolate £8.50 - Hotel Chocolat is my biggest indulgence and the perfect Christmas destination for serious chocolate lovers. I live for salted caramel chocolates so I'm eager to try the hot chocolate version. Take that Starbucks, I'll be making my own!

7. Soap & Glory I'm Your Manicure Set £14 - Soap and Glory bring it when it comes to Christmas gifts and this set is my favourite. I love giving myself manicures in an evening so this stocking filler is a must have.

8. J Crew Embellished Llama Sweater £100 - Ya'll must know by now that I'm a huge fan of Christmas jumpers and yes I do own a few but bear with, this has llamas all over it which has absolutely nothing to do with Christmas meaning it can be worn all Winter long, non?

9. The Dreamer Flannel Pyjamas - I love Primark pyjamas as much as the next person but sometimes a girl needs some luxury in her life, enter the entire flannel pj collection from Victorias Secret. The perfect Christmas eve gift? You know it.

10. Michael Kors Selma Large Bag £250 - I don't know what it is about this simple structured, Prada meets Celine-esqe bag but I can't stop thinking about it. I love the classic navy shade and the practical can't-be-scratched Saffiano leather, perfect for accident prone folk like myself. I'm in love.

What are you wishing for this Christmas? Have you made a few cheeky additions after seeing my wish list?
