Well hello sunny Sunday, how much of a beauty has the weather been today? I've been pottering around in the garden this afternoon taking blog pictures galore and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed the suns rays. In the words of Alan Carr what a week it's been! At the beginning of the week I hadn't even left the house and now I've been back to work, attended a Space NK event, a Sheffield blogger meet up and a MAC make-up lesson (hence today's amaze make-up, post here) oh and did I mention that Craig and I have had an offer accepted on a house! It's very early days but we're incredibly excited to be on the way to having our own home, I'm mentally buying bedding and house hold trinkets as I type!

For Sundays when you need to be dressed in ten minutes flat you can't go wrong with a pair of high waisted skinny jeans - dressed up or down they make an incredibly versatile addition to any wardrobe and look just as fresh with a pair of Converse as they do with a pair of strappy Zara sandals. As weekends are all about laid back dressing I decided to tuck my new, oversized Love tee from Topshop into my J Brands - not only does this fit the bill for casual cool but £7 from the sale of every t-shirt goes to Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, who doesn't love feel good fashion? The finishing touches to my Sunday attire include my simple gold band necklace from Warehouse, my favourite rings and not forgetting my never-leave-the-house-without Michael Kors watch.

I hope you're all enjoying every last moment of your Sunday, I can't believe tomorrow will be my first Monday back at work in over two weeks! Right now I'm dying to order Kez a Cath Kidston dog basket as he'll be finally able to live with us...let's hope the boy isn't reading this one.

Have you been keeping things casual this Sunday? Do you love feel good fashion as much as me?

If you love all things Cagney and Lace then I'd be beyond thrilled if you'd vote for me in the Cosmopolitan Blogger Awards sponsored by Next. I've been blogging for less than a year so hop on over to the Next site here and vote for Cagney and Lace in the Newcomer Award.

Wednesday Wishlist #9

Wednesday, 8 May 2013

What is it about bank holiday weekends that seriously mess up your body clock? That extra day at the weekend means I've spent a lot of the day wondering whether it's Tuesday or Thursday when in fact it's Wednesday! I like to keep Cagney and Lace a positive space so I'll not dwell on this next sentence for too long - today should be Beyonce day for some of my favourite girls and I but sadly I've had to bow out as I'm at home recovering from a little stint in hospital. Don't worry team, I'm going to be as good as new before you know it and fingers crossed I should be mobile enough to attend a Space NK Beauty Event next week. Sadly outfit posts may not be as frequent for a while unless I figure out how to disguise khaki green surgical stockings....all suggestions welcome.

When any self respecting blogging babe is ordered to rest the consequences on ones bank balance can be dire (hello on-line shopping) but rest assured I haven't done any damage, yet. As I'm getting excited for my holiday in June here are just a few items that have caught my eye, someone better hide my Paypal password.

1. Sundress With Cut Out Back £22 - I know I'm not the only one who has visited Rosie's blog and swooned over how well that girl can pull off a simple sun dress so with this in mind I'm planning on rocking this to dinner on my fast approaching Greek adventure. I've never really been one for something so understated but the peek-a-boo back provides just enough something something to keep my usual outlandish taste appeased. Disclaimer - super cool London lifestyle does not come with purchase of this dress.

2. Longline Olive Bikini £25 - How chic and sophisticated is this high waisted olive bikini from Topshop? I can already envisage myself sat by the pool, caipirinha in hand wearing huge cats eye style sunglasses and an elegant straw sun hat with this little olive number. Unsurprisingly I'm usually the gal with the craziest printed bikinis so this high waisted solid colour pick is a refreshing change.

3. Dior Skin Nude BB Cream £30 - Lisa Eldridge is the queen of make-up maestros, the ultimate enabler if you will so when this BB cream popped up in her latest video it immediately went into the notes section on my iPhone along with all the other beauty booty I'm coveting. I've only ever dabbled with Dr Jart when it comes to BB creams so I'd love to try a high-end option, all in the name of research of course.

4. Ombre Roll Down Shift £46 - I'm quite tempted to lock down this beauty and frame it in my bedroom as modern fashion art. I adore the simple shape of this ombre sunset print dress and it's roll neck gives more than just a nod to the sixties. The romantic in me can imagine wearing this bare foot on the beach with a sixties style blow dry, in reality my hair will probably resemble a lions mane but hey a girls gotta dream.

5. Bumble & Bumble Surf Shampoo & Conditioner £18.50 and £20 - Speaking of hair I'd be amazed if you haven't seen these two newbies pop up whilst surfing (get it?) the bloggersphere. I've loved the Bumble & Bumble surf spray for as long as I can remember - I actually think it was the first thing I ever purchased from Space NK so you know I need these in my shower. Anything that creates messy, textured bed head hair is alright by me.

6. YSL Rouge Volupte Shine Lipstick in Fuschia £24 - So you know that ultimate enabler Lisa Eldridge I mentioned earlier? Well she only went and used this YSL lipstick in the Dior BB Cream video. I've got my fingers crossed that such a bright hue will suit my English rose complexion but if not I may just have to purchase one of the other delectable shades, after all I feel by twenty five you should own a YSL lipstick and shockingly I don't. This must be rectified, pronto.

7. Fluffy Texture Ombre Cardigan £45 - Yes the sun has been shining in good ol' Blighty but you know it won't last forever. To ward off those May winds I'm suggesting rocking this grown up pastel cardigan with everything from high waisted J Brands to micro shorts and a plain tee - guys, it's time to embrace the fluff.

Which of my Wednesday Wishlist picks are you lusting after? Do you find yourself enabled to splurge by fellow bloggers?

Wednesday Wishlist #2

Wednesday, 5 September 2012

Top to bottom- Wedge High Tops from Topshop £45/ Garcon Jumper from Topshop £40/ Smock Dress from All Saints £140/ Grey Heart Patch Jumper from ASOS £22.00/ Aiden Boyfriend Jeans by J Brand from mywardrobe.com £255/ Ojon Dry Recovery Shampoo & Conditioner £18 each.

I've been debating these Isabel Marant dupes for a long time- do I like them, are they just for the teens, would I be able to rock them... and now they've landed on my Wednesday Wishlist. To keep these grown up I'd team them with skinny jeans and a patterned, oversized shirt. Is it too late to place a Topshop order?

The garcon jumper would be a cute addition to my wardrobe, adding a novelty element to a more toned downed outfit. I know this would look spot on with my navy leopard print Zara jeans too which are dying to make their first appearance. I could also see this jumper with my next choice- the simple yet chic smock style dress from All Saints. Chic and smock are certainly not two words I'd usually put together but I just adore this dress, the peter pan collar teamed with the ribbing detail just works. Yes it's pricey and I should be saving for a house deposit but this would be so versatile. I can see me wearing it already with black opaques, brogues and my Alexa bag.

My next two choices are what I see as Autumn/Winter wardrobe essentials with a twist- the grey heart patch ASOS jumper would be an easy to throw on number which would work equally as well with denim shorts and black opaques as it would a faux leather skirt. The Aiden boyfriend jeans from J Brand are a great alternative to my faithful skinnys and I just love the idea of playing around with them- turning up the bottoms and adding heels, an oversized tee and a statement necklace or teaming with just Converse and the garcon jumper for laid back cool.

My final wish list picks are not actually fashion related- although I definitely think good hair and fashion go hand in hand. I have heard so many good things about Ojon products from different bloggers so I would LOVE to try these out. My hair is quite thick and unruly and I often find it gets quite dry on the ends, particularly as I have hi-lights so the name dry recovery sounds right up my street.

What do you think to my Wednesday wishlist choices? Have you tried any Ojon products?
