So picture the scene, I arrive at my friends house in Manchester for a get together, we all start talking outfits for the evenings shenanigans (mine's a mocktail not a cocktail) when I realise I've left my boots to complete my outfit on the kitchen floor - I can't even sport the ones I came in as my dress is grey leopard print and I wore leopard prints boots! Story of my pregnant life. Thank the fashion gods (or my pal Joasia) for lending me a pair of black boots that not only got me out of a fashion crisis but upped my fashion ante by pushing me out of my comfort zone. Never in a month of Sundays would I have picked these boots myself but man they're awesome.

Not only are they darn comfy, surprising when they have a 3 and a half inch heel height but they add an nonchalant edge to a simple ensemble. I'd be lying if I said I didn't visit the Miss Selfridge website at dinner that very evening to see if they had my size available, where I discovered a pair in my local store and that they'd gone from a reasonable £45 to £31.50 in the sale.

Then came Tuesdays Grazia (out until Monday) with a 25% Miss Selfridge discount code. I happily danced all the way to Miss Selfridge, handed over my voucher and came away with a pair of £23 boots and an bad ass edge to my shoe collection. Which got me thinking of a great business idea, wouldn't it be be great if you could test drive shoes before purchasing? To make sure they don't kill your feet after three hours of wear? You heard it here first.

Have your friends ever influenced your fashion purchases? Will you be picking anything up from Miss Selfridge? According to Grazia they have the most divine Alexa for AG Jeans inspired denim mini dropping any time soon.
