Oh Sunday, haven't you crept up on us quickly? This weekend has been a real winner, even though we were back at work on Friday Craig found out it was his Saturday off on his first day back - who doesn't enjoy a no work birthday weekend? Saturday saw us being incredibly chilled with a late pancake breakfast followed by a dog walking adventure to Derwent Valley (so pretty). We rounded the day off with a meal at Wig & Pen with our fave marrieds, they even wrote happy birthday on a rustic slate for the birthday boy to be.
We started today with scrambled eggs, birthday bunting and present opening - I treated the husband to be to a Canon 1200D so fingers crossed he'll take some sharp outfit pictures for me soon. We then headed to Smith & Baker, a fairly new restaurant to Sheffield and my is it a winner. The decor is Scandi chic, the atmosphere relaxed (with a pretty awesome playlist), the service is friendly and the food. Well it's another level. I started with a smoked haddock and leek gratin & finished things off with a roast chicken dish. I love the concept behind Smith & Baker, the menu changes daily ensuring the customer is eating the most seasonal and fresh produce - I know I'll be back soon.
We wrapped up the most sublime meal with my mommas homemade chocolate cake (isn't she a cutie making Craig a birthday cake?) Tonight we're keeping things chilled and trying to find something to replace the Homeland shaped gap in our lives. Any ideas? Happy 28th birthday fiancee! I think this year's going to be a goodie...
What have you been up to this weekend?

Oh my boyfriend and I are also suffering with a Homeland shaped gap too. Looks like you guys had a lovely birthday weekend. Happy Birthday Craig! x
