Well hello weekend - my how I've missed you! I feel as though I've been a poor show on the blogging front this week, especially after my beautiful new blog design has lovingly gone live (huge thanks to the lovely Abby who is a blog design genius). This week has been a real mix of highs and lows, the boy and I finally booked our holiday - yay! One of my besties got a brand new job, woop woop! Yet I've still not been feeling 100% myself after having a stupid cold, boo and an even bigger boo - my mums had an awful chest infection which meant I had to cancel our surprise day trip today and make honey and lemon for her instead. Thankfully she's starting to feel better and I finally feel like myself again which means blogging can recommence with a stylish bang! I hope you all love my new design as much as me, I'd be amazed if you didn't think Cagney the Yorkshire Terrier wasn't a massive cutie.
Another high which I haven't mentioned yet is my early finish on Tuesday which was so I could get my butt on the road for a trip to Leeds. Said trip involved my girl Scarlett, a burger (more about that another time), a trip to Space NK (of course I bought something) and a Harvey Nichols fashion show - definitely everything you could ever want from a Tuesday afternoon and some! The Harvey Nichols Spring Summer fashion show was held in the Victoria Quarter which is a must visit if you ever find yourself in Leeds. The event was ticketed and for £15 you got to indulge in a glass or two of champagne, watch the fashion show - yes there was a goodie bag waiting on your seat! The piece de resistance of the event was a 15% shopping discount in Harvey Nichols where the store was only open for fashion show guests, it was like I'd died and gone to wardrobe heaven. Oh and I may have purchased THE birthday dress! Now don't worry you haven't forgotten my birthday, it isn't until the end of April yet as my nearest and dearest all know my mum and I take an annual pilgrimage to a chosen city every year to find THE birthday dress. What can I say? I don't like to see anyone else wearing the same dress as me on my birthday night out, crazy - possibly but it has become a bit of a birthday tradition! All I'll say is it's by a cool label called Finders Keepers, the best name ever? The juries out!
The fashion show was everything I imagined it to be and in true Cagney and Lace style I may have taken just a few snaps of some of my favourite looks - No Limits Prints and White Out were easily my highlights with my stand out outfit being the By Malene Birger top and matching trouser look. Who doesn't want to wear a rock a luxe pyjama look outside the house? The Sophie Webster shoes and clutch paired with this look were pretty amaze too. If money were no object I'd of certainly been purchasing this look, even though it's a show stopper you could definitely wear the pieces separately to ensure maximum wearability. How good are my justification skills? Scarlett and I had a brilliant time in Leeds although I must admit Wednesday was a struggle - how could it ever live up to Tuesday?
Which Spring Summer look was your favourite? If money was no object which designer piece would you splurge on?

ReplyDeleteWe certainly did Sophie! It's coming to my house today so you may just see it popping up on the blog.
DeleteI don't have much interest in fashion and designers but it sounds like it was a great evening. The Victoria Qtr is so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIf money was no object I'd have Chanel bags left, right and centre as they're so pretty.

I think I could live in the Victoria Quarter! Ah good choice Victoria, Chanel bags are so beautiful.
