Every time I check out my favourite bookmarked blogs I always come across burgers, big and juicy with fat chips - bloggers seem to have an obsession with the American beasts and they're certainly not alone with their love. On Tuesday my girl Scarlett and I hit Leeds for a evening of fashion but even fashionistas need their fashion-show-watching-strength, what can I say? Reds BBQ was calling. After spotting a fellow blogger wax lyrical about Reds I was dying to see what the fuss was about, thankfully the hype did not disappoint.
Reds BBQ is situated on Call Lane, about a 3 minute walk from the lovely Harvey Nichols. On arriving at Reds the burger joint (definitely appropriate terminology) was heaving but the friendly greeter seated us quickly at a bar style type table. After a quick perusal of the menu - I thought of my bestie Gemma when I saw the donut burger, we decided on a small plate of nachos to share and two Reds classic bacon and cheeseburger WITH onion rings.
The service was fast and friendly with our nachos delivered in no time at all and devoured in quite possibly the same amount of time it took for them to arrive. While we caught up on life, I sipped away at my home made, old school lemonade (absolutely delish) - the cocktail menu was pretty impressive too. Once the burgers arrived we were both silenced, the burgers were absolutely huge and beyond tasty. Reds BBQ have an extensive selection of sauces too, I braved one of the barbecue sauces which was pretty fiery! The thing I loved most about Reds is the atmosphere, even on a Tuesday evening there was a celebratory and buzzy feel which is a testament to Reds and what it's achieved in such a small space of time.
If you ever find yourself craving American style fare in the centre of Leeds check out Reds BBQ - I know you won't be disappointed. The question is, when can I go back and take the boy? I know he'd love it! Disclaimer - I do not advocate eating a burger every day.
Do you enjoy chowing down on a huge burger? Where's your favourite burger joint?
On a completely non-related burger note the Company Style Blogger Awards 2013 are on the horizon so if you love reading my blog posts I'd be absolutely thrilled if you could nominate me - I fall into the Best Fashion Blog Newcomer section. Cheeky plug over and out!

My boyfriend is dying to try that donut burger! As a vegetarian I might struggle if we went there although the macaroni cheese sounds pretty heavenly!
ReplyDeleteI was tempted to add a second disclaimer apologising to vegetarians for the meat overload! I bet the macaroni cheese is amaze, the atmosphere alone is worth going for and I would LOVE to see snaps of the donut burger.
DeleteNever heard of Reds before - looks like my kinda place! Donut burger sounds crazy!
ReplyDeleteIt does doesn't it? I feel I need to go again and eat nothing all day then plump for the donut burger!
DeleteYummy, my husband would adore this place!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely worth a try if you ever find yourself in Leeds Angie.
DeleteHonestly the Mac Cheese is awesome - but the Donut burger is something else - like they said, it shouldn't work, but it just does. It's not as large as the Pit Burger which is all kinds of Man Vs Food-ness but it's delicious mix of sweet and savoury should satisfy any meat/dessert fan in one hit.
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to get my bum back to Leeds and then eat nothing all day before trying one of these!
DeleteI went with the brisket main course which was an absolute dream of a meal and an abundance of it also. I'd reccomend it to anyone without hesitation and intend to make a return visit myself later on in the current week
ReplyDeleteI'm not really one for brisket but one of my friends is so I'll get recommending that one to her!
DeleteI love Reds True BBQ. Amazing place. And I completely agree... The atmosphere makes it for me. But their yummy Reuben works too ;o)
ReplyDeleteHa I love that you have a staff favourite Zoe!
DeleteMe too Helen, I try not to look at this post too often for fear of salivating on my keyboard!
