So it's fair to say I'm just a tad late to the BB cream party - I think my invite must have got lost in the post. In all honesty a BB cream has never been something I've considered as for as long as I can remember I've always been conscious about my skin. As a teenager I never had acne or really suffered with my skin like many teens do but I've always had more than the odd spot and would cover it the only way I knew how - I'm looking at you MAC Studio Fix. Thankfully as I've approached my mid twenties my skin has gradually improved, which I put down to the power of three so as someone who now experiences just a few blemishes I finally feel ready to rest my holy grail foundation (Nars Sheer Glow in case you were wondering) and say hello to the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Beauty Balm.

If you're behind the door when it comes to BB creams here's the low down, they hail from Korea and are somewhere in between a foundation and a tinted moisturiser. They're promoted as a do-all beauty/skincare product that can be used as a primer or on their own depending on the level of coverage you like.

My first impressions of the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB cream is that it feels creamy and almost a  little watery - hence the name Hannah! As I'm a bit of a get up and go kinda gal I apply this with my fingers as I would a moisturiser and a little goes a long way guys. Quicker than you can say Dr Jart+ my skin tone is nicely evened out with a natural, slightly dewy finish. I then apply concealer to any blemishes and my under eye area before powdering my t-zone as I would with any base product. Now I like my make-up to stay put all day and can verify that this bad boy is still looking pretty decent by the time I get home, although I can have a shiny nose - definitely the curse of combination skin! This would suit anyone with normal to combination skin although I'm not sure how this would sit on an oilier skin as even though it's oil free it's still moisturising. Price wise I think this is a real steal at £12 (currently on offer in Boots, should be £18) and even at full price I still think it's worth it, especially when my usual base Nars Sheer Glow is £30.50!

My only negative for this wonder base is the colour. Unlike more westernised BB creams the Dr Jart+ range only comes in one shade which adapts to your natural skin tone on application. Personally I find this oxides a little too dark on me, see what you think here although it would be perfect if I've fake tanned or in Summer, especially with an SPF25 - unfortunately ladies with porcelain skin or darker skin tones should stay clear.

Overall I give the Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB cream a B+ - if only it was available in more shades then I'd be reaching for this every single day, seriously it's that lovely. The search for the perfect BB cream continues....

Have you tried any of the Dr Jart+ BB creams? Which BB cream should I try next?
