It all started with Lindsay Lohan in the Parent Trap, or was it Harriet the Spy (who knew Harriet was Michelle Trachtenberg?) I'm talking about freckles guys, ever since I laid eyes on Hallie, Annie and Harriet I have secretly longed for my very own freckles. I know some freckle owners may disagree but I for one adore them, they make a person stand out for all the right reasons - just look at Jade Thompson, recent winner of Britain's Next Top Model. So when I heard waves through the blogging community of Illamasqua's new I'mPerfection collection (clever name huh?) I just knew I had to find out more, and fast.

Illamasqua are fairly new to the beauty market and in just three short years the brand has gone from the brain child of Yorkshire marketeer Julian Kynaston to a globally recognised make-up brand known for pushing the boundaries. The I'mPerfection collection is no different - the ethos behind the collection is embracing your individuality and for your 'flaws' or imperfections to remain part of you, not just something you cover up with make-up. The stand out and most accessible piece in the collection was the one I was lusting for, the speckled nail polishes. Freckles on my fingertips? Yes please.

Last Friday I hauled ass to the Illamasqua counter in Meadowhall to get a piece of the freckle action. Even though the make-up artist was doing a make-over she was incredibly helpful and encouraged me to play with the new collection, seriously dangerous for the house saving fund as I began to long for the powder blush duo in lover and hussy. If you've never tried an Illamasqua blusher then where have you been? They are super pigmented so you only need the tiniest amount. One of my most used blushers is the colour lover (I didn't even realise until now that it's in the palette). After trying on almost every speckled nail colour I decided on Freckle, pretty apt I think - I was also given a copy of the brands mini magazine which features the lovely Milly.

This applies like a dream and even though it photographs with a green leaning I can assure you it's a beautiful mink neutral with speckled detailing, which is a cross between freckles and Cadburys mini eggs! If you've never been to an Illamasqua counter then my advise is head on over, don't be put off by the green lipgloss - the staff are incredibly friendly and the product quality is extremely high plus who doesn't want nails resembling mini eggs? At £14 a nail polish I may just be back for Scarce (a pinky speckle) oh and maybe the palette too....

Have you checked out the new I'mPerfection collection from Illamasqua? What do you think to speckled nails?
