It's Friiiiiiday! (I definitely just said that in the style of Slade when they sing I wish it could be Christmas everyday, don't judge). There's no better feeling for me on a Friday than getting in from work and knowing that I have all weekend to do whatever I like, get up at whatever time I fancy and spend lots of time with my nearest and dearest. That said this weekend is going to be a chilled one, mainly because my bank balance is recovering from my Topshop purchases....

Last Saturday the boy and I took a trip to Leeds to visit the new Topshop Trinity store, this is THE largest Topshop outside of London and is 3 floors of perfection- ideal for us Northern girls who need our Topshop fix. I must admit I'd slightly fallen out with the place, once someone who wore head to toe Topshop I found their Spring/Summer collection rather unexciting and as fantastic as it'd probably look on my 14 year old cousin, it just wasn't for me. Thankfully they're back to full strength with their Autumn/Winter collection with chunky knits and studding galore so I thought it only fair to show you my purchases.

This horse print shirt is the perfect transitional piece and reminds me of fine bone china. I saw this in my local Topshop a few weeks ago and although I lusted over the print I knew it wouldn't fit me right as I'm over 5 foot 7 and the shirt has a shorter front and longer back. Queue a huge tall section in the Trinity store and we met again, love at first try on. This shirt in tall is the perfect length for me and I can't wait to team it with leather shorts and tights for a night out with the girls or with skinny jeans and converse for Sunday laid-back-yet-made-an-effort dressing.

My second purchase had to be in my favourite colour of the season, oxblood- as you can see from my pictures it's a really simple t-shirt dress (and a real bargain at £26). Although it's certainly not the most exciting piece and may I add it's not patterned- always an achievement for me, I know it's going to be one of the most hardworking pieces in my Autumn/Winter wardrobe. Perfect for work by adding my camel blazer, black tights and ankle boots or lovely for the weekend with a faux fur stole for a touch of 40s glamour, just add berry lipstick.

The piece de resistance has to be these Adios2 studded western boots....now let me tell you a story about these bad boys. THE boots fell on my fashion radaar way back in August when casually walking through Topshop I had a oh-my-god-I-need-you-in-my-life moment. Being unusually cautious I thought I'd wait and buy them when I actually need boots. Now any decent highstreetaholic will tell you this is dreadful advise, if you see a piece you lust and that will work for you then snap it up there and then, you can always return it if it's no good!

Fast forward to September and I'm back in Topshop trying to get my hands on these boots, no such luck unless you're a size 3. So I begin obsessing over a pair of boots (unhealthy I know) phoning every Topshop in a 20 mile radius, checking stocks on-line and calling/tweeting friends who live near large Topshops. Sadly my quest was to no avail until the arrival of the new Leeds store where they had just one pair left and in my size, some would say it was shoe fate. I am now the proud owner of these much sought after boots and let me tell you, they will not be leaving my feet for the entire season. Just as perfect with skinny jeans as with tights these boots will be accompanying me to many occasions and seem to add that perfect level of fierce to the easiest of outfits.

The Topshop Trinity experience was certainly memorable; the stock was beautifully merchandised, the staff incredibly friendly and helpful, even though it was ridiculously busy and the fitting rooms are a real joy to try on in with assistance buttons in each one- perfect for when you need another size. I'm more than tempted to make a trip back soon and already have my eye on a chunky khaki knit cardigan but spending police beware- all my Topshop haul purchases were made with my eBay pennies, my wardrobe is lighter on clothes I don't wear and fuller on pieces I can't wait to wear.

What do you think of my Topshop haul pieces? What have you been buying from Topshop?
