I don’t quite know what it is about September but it’s one month that has always resonated with me and not just because of the abundance of stationery (I totally used to get a new pencil case every September FYI). The ninth month of the year is the perfect blend of sunny and Autumnal and it's a time I always look forward to and this year is no exception so I thought I’d compile a list of all the things I’m getting giddy about right now.
Cooking up a storm – If you keep a keen eye on my Instagram you'll know that Craig, Sadie and I are currently staying at my ma and pa’s while our kitchen/dining room renovations are underway. It almost feels like a mini holiday (except there's pots to clean) and I’m beyond grateful to get away from our messy abode where kitchen units in the living room is currently the norm. It’ll not be long until our shell of a kitchen starts to take shape though especially as it’s already changed so much but if you’re eager to see snaps then check out my mood board to see the behind the scenes inspiration.
Back to Brighton – Brighton is somewhere I fell head over heels for on my now sister in laws hen party (I blogged about it here) but thanks to too many cocktails and clucky hen action I didn’t get the chance to explore as much as I'd of liked so I'm thrilled to be heading back with my family for what I can only imagine will be a completely different experience! We're staying in the seaside resort for two nights and while I’d of loved to stay longer (new kitchen problems) I’m excited to get settled into our airbnb and see Sadie on the beach with her bucket and spade. If you’ve been to Brighton recently or live here I’d love to hear your recommendations.
Hello new stores - & Other Stories has recently opened in Manchester and now Anthropologie, COS and Maje are all soon to open in Leeds, can you tell I’m excited? The north has long been behind our southern friends when it comes to shopping so it's about time we got a few fancy stores to window shop, who am I kidding? Spend all my money in. Closer to home is The Treat Kitchen an independent sweet shop which opens in Meadowhall on Saturday 3rd September and to celebrate the launch they'll be giving away 75,000 sweets! Definitely one to pop in the phone if you've got a sweet tooth.
My Autumn Winter wardrobe - Everyone knows early September is the best time to enhance your new season closet and who am I to argue? I recently picked up this dress from new look Warehouse (I couldn’t love the rebrand anymore, beautiful job Emma Cook et al) so expect to see this styled up on Cagney and Lace soon. Autumn Winter wardrobe aside I've actually got the Gucci Soho Disco bag on the brain especially as little bags are my current jam so any help in my shall I, shan’t I conundrum would be appreciated.
R & R – Show me a mum that wouldn’t snap your hand off at the words spa mini break and I’ll eat my Burberry cape. These past few months have been pretty turbulent in the Wild residence and while I’m not one to dwell I couldn’t be more ready for a rest, I know our Brighton jaunt will be a very welcome break but I also think I need to be kinder to myself and remember to take five minutes wherever I can although if anyone does want to treat me to a spa break then I’m all ears.
What are you looking forward to this September?
