There may still be one bank holiday around the corner but it's time to face facts, Autumn is well and truly creeping in - the weather's temperamental,  the nights are drawing in and the shops are full with new season wares. One trend that's shouting loud this Autumn Winter is suede, that beautiful yet slightly impractical material is making serious seventies waves across the high street and I for one am game. Now if you're a regular around these parts you'll know that I'm determined to buy fewer, more classic pieces in an attempt to build that elusive, mix and match capsule wardrobe however I'll always make an exception for trend led pieces. Why spend a fortune on buys that'll just last the season? Step forward this faux suede biker jacket from George at Asda who have a whole host of wardrobe updaters that can be picked up while you grab the pantry essentials, my kinda shopping.

For todays outfit post I've styled this super soft jacket in an understated way pairing it with a oversized white tee and my I-can't-stop-wearing-them Joni jeans but I can already imagine this working with everything from patterned trousers to a denim shirt dress. You could even go for a head to toe seventies look teaming this with a lace up top and a button down mini. Completing my lunch date look (shout out to my suede wearing girl Scarlett who I dined with) I went with lace up sandals, my regular Tom Ford sunnies, new Olivia Burton watch (I'm in LOVE) and Blossom bag by British wonders Mulberry. It's actually Blossoms first appearance on Cagney & Lace and I must say I'm thrilled to welcome her into the handbag family. Craig surprised me with this a few days after Sadies birth and to say I was over the moon is an understatement, especially as it matches my purse perfectly.

Today Sadie and I have dodged puddles left, right and centre after a sunny brunch at Tamper Coffee with two close friends, it's safe to say I won't miss you August weather. Next month Craig, Sadie and I are off on our first family staycation to the New Forest so I'm keeping everything crossed for a hint of sunshine.

Do you love picking up wardrobe updaters while you food shop? What do you make of the suede trend?
