Today I'm tapping away at my MacBook from a different location to Cagney and Lace HQ, the reason? Remember me mentioning a last minute trip to London? Well my mum and I stayed (well it will be stayed by the time you read this) at The Thistle Hotel Piccadilly which may be the most perfectly placed hotel in London for 24 hours of retail madness. It's a stones throw from theatre land, the M&M store and Burberry on Regent Street where my mum bought the most divine mother of the groom (MOG) dress and where I tried on that scarf/blanket/poncho. Need. I may have also devoured my first Ping Pong and have found my way into Topshop where bad things happened to my bank balance but that's for another time. What found their way onto my feet for an afternoon of London fun? My New Balance, see my wordy introduction was going somewhere.

I got my first pair of New Balance back when I was a teen so to see them scattered all over the Scandi bloggers makes me one happy bunny. After umming and ahhhing over when to commit Urban Outfitters forced my hand when these 420s went in the sale from £60 to £40. It'd be wrong not to buy right? Worn with a simple Summer dress (hai new Whistles friend) and a bright lip these sneakers bring that high-low mix to the outfit party and I'm more than ok with that. Oh and did I mention they're darn comfy? I'm not talking Nike Free comfort but pretty damn close.

Right now we're off to get a table at The Breakfast Club and finish the all important MOG outfit all before our 2pm train home. I'd say wish us luck but it'll all have happened seamlessly by the time you read this. Can you hear my wishful thinking?

What do you make of my New Balance trainers? Have you ever owned a pair?
