2014. The year of not only buying better (as I mentioned here) but also the year of savoury Sundays. Now let me be clear, savoury Sundays are not where I consume my weight in food stuffs, I could manage this almost any day of the week, no savoury Sundays are going to be where I get creative in the kitchen and make something different - whether it be lunch for the following week at work or just a tasty brunch a la today.

Sunday is always the day Craig and I chow down on a hearty breakfast as more often than not it's the only morning we're guaranteed to spend together - instead of our usual fare of poached or scrambled eggs I decided to invite pancakes into the mix. These went down a storm with a teeny bit of Nutella, lashings of berries and a handful of hazelnuts. In other news can you believe it was sunny enough today for my breakfast plate to cast a shadow? January you're alright.

This weekend has been a real chilled one with Craig and I visiting both sets of parentals, drinking his and hers Starbucks (mine a signature hot chocolate with a shot of peppermint and him a latte), donning our wellies and walking boots respectively for a long Kez walk (just like last Sunday), watching Graham Norton with Idris Elba and the hilarious Olivia Coleman, feeling underwhelmed by The Worlds End but lapping up Hostages (have you seen it?) My dad termed it 24 meets Homeland and I'd have to agree but most of all I've spent this weekend feeling happy that our house is slowly coming together with the boyf popping up two new light fittings and our bathroom is verging on completion.

Next week is already looking like a winner as I'm finally off to the cinema with three of my faves, catching up with my sister from another mister Lauren and getting my shop on with my bud Gem. Sorry bank balance, this week you're going to take a beating.

Do you adore Idris Elba as much as me? What do you reckon to my chatty posts?
