2013 was a big ol' year - my big bro got engaged and set a date, my best chum gave birth to the most beautiful baby boy (aka my god son), Cagney and Lace turned one and Craig and I bought a house (yes an actual house) which we now call home. Like any year it wasn't all hearts and flowers but it wouldn't be real life if we didn't have a few lows. 2013 was the year I came into my own (if this makes any sense?) and I now know I can tackle almost anything that's thrown at me and still manage to find happiness. Without getting too deep I really feel as though 2013 was the year I realised what is truly important to me and what really doesn't matter, there's definitely some benefits to getting a year older.

When 2013 first showed it's face I sat down and put together a few goals, resolutions, things you say to make you feel organised and you know what? I found it helpful so without further excerpts from the book of Hannah, here we go...

Devour new recipes - Since moving into our own pad I've become stuck in a recipe rut, focusing on tried and tested dishes but rarely branching out. This must change.

Get a jog on - 2013 was the year I actually went to the gym and enjoyed it that is until it got cold and snuggling up in my pyjamas became more appealing. My favourite thing to do at the gym? Run. One of the things you can do without going to the gym? Enough said.

Relax with a book - I peruse blogs on a daily basis and pride myself on never missing a new post from my faves so why have I stopped reading my beloved novels and magazines? This year I'm determined to turn off the Macbook, sit down and devour an actual book or glossy.

Start saving for a rainy day - If spending was a sport I'd have gold medallist potential, hell I might even have a few medals to my name but saving is something else and it's not that I can't do it, I jut don't do it all that often. 2014 will be the year I try my damnedest to change this.

Find an amazing mascara - Twenty five years and eight months on Earth and I still haven't found the one, recommendations appreciated.

What did you learn in 2013? Have you set yourself any New Years resolutions?
