When emails from Zara that aren't order confirmations find their way into your inbox you stand up and take notice, especially when the Spanish force to be reckoned with don't do any advertising (yes you read that correctly) so I'm sure you can imagine my delight when I found out that I'd been invited to the launch of the newly improved Manchester Zara - let's just say I was booking my train faster than you can say the Pennines.
Walking into store I was instantly wowed, everything from the ambience to the carefully selected stock and even the get up sported by the staff is spot on. After receiving a warm welcome from team Zara fellow bloggers, press folk and I were given a presentation of the new look store focusing on the trends and key pieces from each department. I fell in love with the tartan lingerie inspired dresses from the Studio collection which is a high fashion and well crafted range which can only be found in select stores, you lucky Manchester lot - the stand out collection for me however was TRF. Once aimed at the younger customer Zara have now brought this range closer to the main womenswear line whilst keeping a more affordable price point, winner.
One thing I absolutely adore about Zara is how each store takes a really active role in the buying process with all store managers selecting their own stock, genius non? As a buyer myself I think it's fantastic Zara operate in this way as the store can react quicker to the needs of their own geographic customer plus how proud would you feel if a line you chose sold phenomenally?
It's also worth noting the on point merchandising, even someone who isn't a good shopper could comfortably put together an on-trend ensemble and that's all down to the savvy layout and well styled collections. My mum and I visited Zara together and later that day we both remarked that nearly every store we visited post Zara felt like a jumble sale in comparison. Kudos team merch! Stock drops in all Zara stores on Thursday and Sunday and goes straight out onto the shop floor...see you Thursday?
Do you love Zara as much as me? Which pieces are you craving in your wardrobe?
