If you're a regular Cagney and Lace reader you'll know how much I love my candles, there's just something about coming home after a long day at work to your bookmarked blogs and lighting a candle - favourites like Neom and Diptyque grace my mantle piece regularly but sometimes a girl has to watch her pennies, especially when you're meant to be saving for your very first house and not spending all your wages in Topshop. Enter the Fairy Dust candle from Somerset based brand Lily-Flame.

Now I'll level with you, I was actually gifted this candle a birthday or two ago but never really thought anything of it - I just wasn't that excited by candles. Fast forward to a couple of Saturdays ago when I finally tackled the state that was my bedroom and I was reacquainted with Fairy Dust, all I can say is why oh why did I wait so long? First things first, how cute is the packaging? Housed in a pale pink tin this candle is girly-ness personified, even when you open the tin the magic continues as you're greeted by pink and white wax chunks which almost look like marshmallows on top of a cake.

As I'm sure you'd imagine with a name like Fairy Dust the scent is incredibly sweet and it instantly reminded me of entering an old fashioned sweet shop whilst eating pink candy floss, as over powering as this may sound I can promise you it's anything but. Unlike my Roses Duet candle the scent doesn't immediately fill the room but give it a good twenty minutes or so and the room begins to smell divine and almost a little magical - I don't think I've ever smiled so much at a burning candle, true story.

With a burn time of 35 hours and at just £8.50 I genuinely don't think you can go wrong with a Lily-Flame candle - as soon as Fairy Dust has finished I'll definitely be repurchasing. I'm actually tempted to pick up the Girly Mini Tins set which includes Fairy Dust, Dolly Rocker and Blush for £18... sold to the lady on a saving ban. I promise not to tell if you don't.

Have you ever tried a Lily-Flame candle? Which one was your favourite?
