I'm actually amazed at how quickly the weekend has come around again, fingers crossed it doesn't fly by as fast as it usually does. Todays been a pretty lazy one and so far highlights include a scrambled egg on sourdough brunch and a long walk in the farmers fields with the boy and Kez, he's a proper little cutie. Tonights looking a little more exciting as while the boys off out 'letting his hair down' myself and a few of my favourite girls are having a night in of baking, wine drinking and The Hills watching - any weekend that includes Lauren Conrad is certainly alright by me.
Todays new in is the Jo Malone Ginger Biscuit Cologne which is a limited edition scent from the Sugar & Spice Collection. After seeing a couple of reviews of the new fragrance collection on Anna and Lilys blogs I knew I had to investigate further - I've always loved how Jo Malone fragrances combine the unusual to create the sublime so it was only a matter of time before I got a whiff of the decadently tempting collection for myself.
On my last trip to Leeds I made a beeline for the Jo Malone store and found myself giving each of the five new fragrances the once over - the stand out fragrances for me were Redcurrant & Cream which reminded me of delicate cakes at a fancy afternoon tea, Bitter Orange & Chocolate, easily the most literal of all the fragrances which made me feel like a Terrys Chocolate Orange (in a good way) and of course Ginger Biscuit which smelt just like one of my favourite biscuits, the very much underrated Ginger Nut - is it only me who now feels ridiculously peckish?
Being the indecisive shopper that I am I left the Leeds store empty handed, much more sensible than leaving with all three. After a good nights sleep full of sweet dreams I decided on the Ginger Biscuit scent and placed a swift on-line order. A few days later my new scent arrived, beautifully packaged with a mini sample inside of my current scent Blackberry and Bay. On my second sniff of Ginger Biscuit I was not disappointed, the mix of ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon and caramel teamed with hazelnuts and vanilla means this fragrance is both sweet and warming.
At £38 for 30ml these fragrances certainly aren't the cheapest sweets in the shop but if you're a sucker for a beautiful packaged and individual scent then you may just want to check out the Sugar & Spice collection before they all sell out.
Have you ever tried any products from Jo Malone? Which was your favourite?

PS - I wouldn't be doing my blogging duty if I didn't mention GFC, everyone and their dogs are talking about this one and worrying that this will be on the way out along with Google Reader in July but please don't panic. You can keep up to date with Cagney and Lace antics over on Bloglovin (my favourite way to keep up to date with all the blogs I follow) or by following me on Twitter.

ReplyDeleteGreat name lovely, I'm Hannah Louise myself! I know - it's definitely a good one to have on the dressing table.
DeleteThis perfume sounds divine! Michele1218 showed this perfume in her haul video the other day. I am torn between this one and Jo Malone's redcurrant and cream. I miss the hills and actually you have inspired me to go and watch my old dvds of the show.

Oooh tough choice, both were real favourites of mine when I first got a whiff of them both. Ah I love that I've inspired you to watch the Hills, they're the best!
