Once the staple of 90s indie boys- Cigarettes and Alcohol anyone? & grungy models (yes I'm talking about you Kate Moss) the humble khaki jacket has had a revival, no longer reserved for just Summer festivals the khaki jacket has undergone a tennies makeover- decade after the noughties, keep up guys! French powerhouse Balmain kicked off the trend way back in 2010 showing fashionistas around the globe that you could just throw on your boyfs khaki shirt as long as you added killer glads and leather trousers.

Then came 'THE' Zara jacket...

The Zara khaki oversized jacket with leather sleeves achieves the perfect balance between Sunday-can't-be-bothered-dressing and I-mean-business-leather, wear a la New Yorks finest Olivia Palermo and team with nude courts, chinos and a white blouse or try a more dressed down approach like Made In Chelsea's Louise Thompson with dark skinnys and an oversized Mulberry Tillie (swoon!) Sadly on the pulse fashion lovers like Lily have already purchased all the Zara jackets in the land with many even popping up on eBay at eye watering prices but don't fear your mascara laden eyes, it was only a matter of time before a dupe came on the scene.

Step forward the Topshop Contrast Sleeve Army Jacket (below left) which has more than a nod to the sold out and in demand Zara jacket. At £65 it isn't the cheapest of jackets but it will certainly stop you from pinching your boyfriends plus not only with it work with jeans but with leather shorts, or on holiday on a cool evening on top of a sun dress.

I for one will certainly be rocking a khaki jacket and my roving fashion eye has already spotted the one I have to get my paws on (above right) in Septembers Red Magazine, a khaki jacket with cute yet practical pocket detailing from none other than Warehouse. I'll be keeping my eyes glued to their website for this beauty and already have visions of teaming it with a pretty lace dress in true Cagney and Lace style for the perfect girly meets tough combo

Will you be reviving or purchasing a khaki jacket? How will you style yours?
